APPLES PANDOWDY!

This recipe makes 6 servings and can be served in a dish with a splash of cold milk.

Ingredients

  • 6 apples, pared and cored
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 cup Bisquick baking mix
  • 1 tbsp butter or margarine, melted
  • 1/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 425 degrees
  2. Place apples close together in greased 9x9x2 inch dish. Sprinkle with water, 1/3 cup sugar and the cinnamon. Heat in oven 20 minutes while preparing topping.
  3. Stir remaining ingredients to a soft dough. Gently smooth dough into ball on floured cloth-covered board. Knead 8 to 10 times.
  4. Roll dough into a square that will fit over the hot apples. Cut a small crisscross in dough on top of each apple.
  5. Bake 20 to 25 minutes.
