Some traditions are more traditional than others. For me, one food pairing that brings back good memories is eating soft pretzels with mulled apple cider. It might sound like an unusual combination, but since I spent several Christmas seasons living in Europe and many Christmas markets draw on the inspiration of German or alpine foods, soft pretzels are a very Christmas-y food for me. At these markets, hot mulled cider or wine are a common drink. Philadelphia has a nice Christmas market too, but if you prefer a more relaxed environment to enjoy some of these traditions, just stop by Wolff’s Apple House during the Christmas season!

When we make mulled cider here, we take freshly pressed cider from Weaver’s Orchard and mull it with a family recipe blend of spices so that you can enjoy a complimentary cup of hot apple cider while you shop for a tree.
